At the request of many Larry Williams fans, here’s a 100% free custom study that automates the classic Smash Day pattern and layers in professional-grade filters—for a cleaner edge and sharper price-action execution.
🔍 What It Does
✅ Smash Day Pattern Detection
- Buy Signal: Yesterday closed below the prior day’s low.
- Sell Signal: Yesterday closed above the prior day’s high.
- Entry: Triggered on current day break of yesterday’s high/low.
🛠️ Built-In Filters for Precision
🔹 Extreme Break Filter (Toggle)
Requires the Smash Day bar to break the lowest low / highest high of a lookback period (3–20 days).
Recommended setting: 3–8 days, as Larry Williams often used this range to ensure the Smash Day truly “breaks” recent structure
🔹 Volatility Filter (Toggle)
Filters out setups where the Smash Day range is less than ATR × Multiplier (ATR 1–100, Multiplier 0.1–10).
🔹 Volume Filter (Toggle)
Optional filter requiring the Smash Day’s volume to exceed Average Volume × Multiplier (Period 5–100, Multiplier 0.5–5.0).
🔹 Trend Filter via Moving Average (Toggle)
- Buy signals only allowed if price is above MA
- Sell signals only if price is below MA
(Fully configurable MA period: 5–200)
🔹 Arrow Offset
Control how many ticks above/below price the up/down arrows print (0–100 ticks).

- Click Settings to customize filters, arrow offset, MA, ATR, volume, etc.
